This Friday, September 29th we will have a gold/yellow spirit day in honor of September being Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Students and staff are encouraged to wear gold/yellow on Friday!

Due to the forecast and corresponding flash flood threat this afternoon, APS will dismiss an hour early today, Wednesday, September 13, 2023. There will be no PM ELC. ABACUS will be open. The schools will dismiss at the following times: AHS: 12:50 PM Middle Schools: 1:20 PM Elementary Schools: 2:25 PM

I want to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to Nicholas Gray and Green Friends, Inc.! They did a cleanout around the school grounds and retrieved 2 shopping carts and 6 bags of debris from the trails and area behind the school.
They had an unexpected helper as well! There was a momma Snapping Turtle laying her eggs in the playground mulch. Don't worry, they called the Audubon Society about this and they explained that we should leave the eggs be, so hopefully they will stay undisturbed until the fall.
Today was a hot one! Only 5 more days of PreK for our AM Session and 4 more days for our PM Session! I can't believe how fast this year has flown! Yesterday was such a busy day that the newsletter had to be put on the backburner. The Fun Run was a success! The ELC came in second of all the grades for raising funds! We are so appreciative! Remember that there is no school on Monday! Remember that sunscreen! It looks like a sunny week ahead so remember to put sunscreen on your students before you send them to school. I hope you all enjoy this weekend and remember those who have fought for our freedom and the reason why we have the long weekend.
