I want to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to Nicholas Gray and Green Friends, Inc.! They did a cleanout around the school grounds and retrieved 2 shopping carts and 6 bags of debris from the trails and area behind the school.
They had an unexpected helper as well! There was a momma Snapping Turtle laying her eggs in the playground mulch. Don't worry, they called the Audubon Society about this and they explained that we should leave the eggs be, so hopefully they will stay undisturbed until the fall.
Today was a hot one! Only 5 more days of PreK for our AM Session and 4 more days for our PM Session! I can't believe how fast this year has flown! Yesterday was such a busy day that the newsletter had to be put on the backburner. The Fun Run was a success! The ELC came in second of all the grades for raising funds! We are so appreciative! Remember that there is no school on Monday! Remember that sunscreen! It looks like a sunny week ahead so remember to put sunscreen on your students before you send them to school. I hope you are enjoying your day off today! First and foremost I would like to thank all the staff members for their hardwork and dedication to the ELC students. Today marks the end of Teacher Appreciation week but we all know that we appreciate them everyday! Thank you to the PTO for supporting the ELC staff and students! They are purchasing popsicles for our students next week and have provided staff with little tokens of appreciate throughout the week. Just a reminder as it is getting warmer and sunnier to put sunscreen on your students prior to them attending school so they don't get burnt while on the playground and especially during their field day next week!

What a week! It is supposed to be a nice weekend finally! Just in time for weekend sports and spending time outside! It is a great time to do scavenger hunts outside to help work on your student's language skills through various vocabulary words especially since it is Better Hearing and Speech Month!
Next week is teacher appreciation week. You will see in the newsletter and on the Facebook page the way that we are celebrating our staff through various activities throughout the week! Monday is wearing sweats day as well as sharing your favorite memory with your teachers!
