The snow was snooomuch fun this week! Late fall/early winter learning is happening! There are a lot of community events happening in the next few weeks so please check out the community fliers link! Our PTO is hosting a Holiday Shop on Saturday, December 14th and are in need of volunteers. Join Us for Our Open House on January 7th! We are excited to invite all Attleboro families interested in attending the ELC to our Open House event on January 7th from 6:00 - 7:30 pm. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about our programs, meet our dedicated educators, and ask any questions you may have about the upcoming school year. Additionally, we warmly welcome families who are currently navigating the Special Education Referral Process to come and see what our program has to offer. Peer Screening Sign-Up After the Open House concludes, sign-ups for Peer Screenings will open! Please note that families coming through Early Intervention (EI) or the Special Education Referral Process do not need to sign up for a screening. As you may be aware, a disturbing nationwide trend has made its way to Massachusetts. While the Attleboro Public Schools community has not received any reports of these messages yet, they have been reported in several states, including Alabama, California, Mississippi, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. In these states, students of color have received texts that have some variation of a message that they have been “selected to pick cotton at the nearest plantation.” This is an abhorrent trend that does not reflect our values as a school community or a people. Racism in any form has no place in our schools, our community, or our society, and we will stand firm in our efforts to eradicate it. Massachusetts State Police have been notified of the instances that occurred in Massachusetts, and police in other communities are working with the Commonwealth Fusion Center to investigate the matter and share resources. Please contact your local police should you have received a message as described above. Thank you for your continued support.
